I took the OTW Community Survey!

Very interesting. I had no idea there were people out there willing to fight for a fan's right to create works based on other people's works. Enlightening and pretty interesting.

I'm slowly getting back to writing fiction. Right now I'm exploring my Samurai 7 f-fic. I have to do a massive overhaul though and nail down what I want to say with that story.

My problem with my writing was that I didn't know where I was going. I just wrote because I had pretty pictures in my head or feelings that I wanted written down. So I had no plot outline, no character profiles or anything substantial. A lot of my stuff was started and never finished because of this haphazard way of writing.

I was also unhappy with writing using other people's characters. I wanted to concentrate on my own world, my own characters. I didn't realize until now that my world and my characters are boring. So I soon lost interest in my own stuff too. :/

I never intended to make money off of my abilities so I am not one of those tortured, starving folks, or seriously pursued art as a career choice. To me art was something that is a pastime, a hobby. Everyone in my family told me no matter how good I am I will never make anything of myself through art. I believed them.

Thanks to PiercWorks! a worker retraining and Human Development class at Pierce Community College, I managed to work through my issues. I'm stronger today than I've been in...forever. I have so many people I want to thank for saving my life. Literally and figuratively.

I can't say thanks enough for being there. For helping me. For not abandoning me. Thanks so much.

I also know now that people who claim to know what the hell they're talking about is talking out of their asses. They know nothing. I'm learning how to forgive but I can't forget.

Mostly I've forgiven myself. I know where I am now. I know where I'm going too. Well, knowing is too strong a word but I'm not afraid of the unknown now.

1st: My only brother has emergency appendix surgery in our native, and fantastically 3rd world, country.

2nd: My mother passes away a week later.

3rd: I get kicked out of my old place because...gasp...my damned name wasn't on the lease. And I make too much for low-income housing.

4rth: Aaaand *drum roll pleeeaaase* I'm losing my job.

Oh, and big bro had to go back to Cambodia to sell the house over there...under the threat of castration with zero anesthesia from my ex-sis-in-law so he can do the responsible thing for once and help me pay off the 4,070.00 loan I took out to pay for the funeral all by my fucking self...but since he just got back his place of work says they can't give him any more vacation time. So he's jobless too.

Ain't life peachy?

P.S. I got the apartment of my dreams. The only thing I ever wanted in life was fucking hardwood floors. And it only took me 15 years of moving every two years to finally get it. It comes complete with cockroaches! But I'm relieved to see them. A problem I CAN fix. How sad is that?

My mother passed away on April 8th 2011 at 11pm. She was 68. It is Cambodian New Years. She always did like traditions.

I set up a Facebook account in her name.

To recap, even prior to passage of Bill 156, Tokyo already has the power to designate anything too sexually stimulating for minors OR too sadistic for minors OR too likely to cause criminal acts among minors OR cause suicide among minors as “harmful material”, and force such material to be treated as adult only material.

With the passage of Bill 156, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will have the additional power to restrict any manga, anime and video games (but not live photography works) that feature any sexual acts that would violate criminal codes or Tokyo ordinances OR sexual depictions between close relatives who could not legally get married to be treated as adult material IF they are presented in “unjustifiably glorified or exaggerated manner.”

Comments: This is Bairei from an original story I'm writing. He sleeps naked, and yes, with that sword. That sword has a twin which was taken by a childhood friend with the promise that said friend will come back and they'll recognize each other because of them...

Yeah, this is a yaoi story, and yes all of these are of Bairei except for the smoking dude. That's Sanghriv, Bairei's older brother. I'm so freaking proud of his fingers! ;_;
